Hello

I've enjoyed writing ever since I learned my ABCs, and throughout my life, I've dabbled in just about every medium imaginable including poetry, journalism, memoir writing, and most recently, fiction. A recovering perfectionist and people pleaser, I allowed my Imposter Syndrome to dominate my desire to pursue my dream of writing, even abandoning my journalism major for one in English Literature on the path to becoming an English teacher instead. While I loved the nearly fifteen years I spent in the classroom with my high school students, I knew in my gut that I was short-changing my own potential by pouring into others rather than my own creative pursuits.

 

Now having been nearly ten years removed from that career, I'm finally stepping out from fear's shadow to speak my own creation into the world. In doing so, I've realized my old imposter self only allows me to grow so far; the challenges of writing - and then publishing - have created a million and a half second guesses until I recently attended a retreat with an incredible community of brave artists. I was inspired to finally take action to put my own work out here, and in doing so, I want to build a space where others like me feel inspired to create and share their own work. My hope is that this community is one of inspiration, support, growth, and accountability. Let's go create something unique and wonderful together.
